So, I’m only getting around to writing about this fab weekend now! How time flies…..
This fleadh was filled with great music, people and hospitality. Kicking off with Karen Ryan, Andrew Mac Namara & Pete Quinn’s brilliant concert & album launch ” From Camden to Tulla” on Fri. and finishing with a lively Céilí on Sunday afternoon, there was a relaxed and very enjoyable atmosphere throughout the weekend.
I really enjoyed running the singing & fiddle workshops and meeting with wonderful people of all ages from the locality and beyond. It’s always a pleasure to share Traditional Irish music and song with interested folk and spend time going over the tricks of the trade, as it were…learning anew together.
Rambling about the town of Hastings was also a pleasure as it’s situated by the sea & has an authentic “olde worlde” feel about it. With traditional Irish music sessions taking place in cosy pubs & boat club etc I’d really recommend a visit to Hastings Fleadh.
